VOLUNTEER EXPENSES.

[To the Editor.] Sir,—Might I intrude on your space to enquire who is responsible for the delay in settling the expenses in connection with the late volunteer encampment held at Hastings. If it be the Government, the present is the time to stir them up ; and those who are responsible ought to see to the matter at once. It seems strange indeed that expenses in connection with an outing of this sort should require so much trouble to get paid for. Hoping this hint will stir those in authority.—l am, &c., Volunteer.
