A QUERY
To Tim Editok.]
Sut,—ln justice to a numerous and respectable body of residents here, the Hawke's Hay "trainers, will you very kindly enlighten my ignorance and let me know at your earliest convenience! a small matter which may be easily contained in a nutshell.
In your yesterday's report of the Hastings Magistrates' Court there is a charge brought against Charles Walker, a trainer, for using indecent language in a puldic place. As the said Charles Walker is a stranger and non-resident and known only to a select few will you kindly let me know from what "Metropolitan Club he received his license, or has he got one for if not, he is no trainer. It is a very simple matter to •• dub" all hanger's-on to racing establishments •• trainers,'' but also very misleading. Thanking you for your valuable space.—i am, Ac., (lu.VS!» Ci.UJ.OI>. Hastings, March 80, IK)7. [Perhaps some of Mr Walker's friends may be able to supply the necessary information, as we are unae-piainted with that gentleman's antecedents. En. ,Si.vM'U!i>.
