DISMAY IN THE RANKS OF THE EMPLOYERS. (/Yr Pi'fxx A*s<»-inti<>n.—L'ojoiri'jJit.) Melbourne, This Day. At the annual meeting of the Employers' Union, the report deplored the fact that the Trades Hall had dropped the idea of strikes and wa> now going iu for factory legislation, curtailing hours of labor, fixing the minimum rate of wages, and to so increase wages as to make this a working man's paraelise. It behoved the employers to make strenuous efforts to prevent the Labor Party from having their own way in this matter. The proposed compulsory arbitration was strongly condemned.
