The Con-uI-Oeneral of France bada long interview with Mi' 'Seddon today. The first question to engage attention was whether New Zealand would agree to send exhibts to the Paris exhibition in HJOO. Mr Seddon approved the colony joining ill the British Court, and steps will be taken to give effect to the scheme. The next matter dealt with was as to whether New Zealand would be prepared to preiiiit the French ('able Company to have tli - use of the cable r p; i.-ing steamer Tutanekai in the event of any repairs being required to the Noumea cable." Mr Seddon stated that he would lay the proposal before the Cabinet on his return to New Zealand for decision. Mr Seddon on his \isit to Parramatta inspected the < iovernment dock at Cockatoo Island.
