N.Z. University Senate.
[By Teleoraph] (/Yr /V. a i,it!■■/).) At tKuxt), This day. The University met to-day but adjourned after a short sitting till this afternoon, in order to allow the committee to get to work. On the motion of the Rev. Mr Andrew, the Senate decided to accept with thanks the offer of the past and present students in Canterbury College to establish in the University a prize connected with the name of Professor J. M'Millan Brown, and that the details relating to the prize be referred to the select committee. On the motion of the Rev. Mr Ilabens it was also resolved that the Canterbury Agricultural College be a school of agriculture recognised by the University. Sir Robert Stout, Professor Strand, and J. M. P. rown arrived from the South by the Te Arnui to day toatleud the Senate.
