The "weather is fine, with a fresh easterly wind coming from the right front.

The 300 yds Auckland Match, seven shots, was taken first. The firing was a bit patchy, though some old hands managed to hang on at the distance, which is most, difficult to negotiate. Lester (Christchurch), Winslade (Wanganuii, Smith (Oamaru), and McCarthy (Auckland! each got on 32, while there were several at 31, aud numerous 80s.

With two ranges completed, the leading men were Kobilliard, McCarthy, Smith, Hawthorne, GO : Turner, A. Ballinger, Kruse, Chicken, 01. Williams, who is leading for the Belt, got on 08, and therefore he retains his position. The leading aggregates at the end

Michen, 8S each : Hanks. Somcrville, Weir, Murehin, Hawthorne. 87 each ; w*-|TurneU, Turner, 80 each ; Mcl'arlaiu , Role, Glace, Wilson, W. Ballinirer, Harding, Robiiliard, McCarthy, Jiunchenberg, 85 each. The prize money of this match will not be allotted until it is known the amount subscribed bv the Auckland citizens.
