Athens, Feb. 11
The Powers are warned that Greece will avoid a rupture with Turkey. At the same time they are unofficially assured by Greece that the latter will ultimately posse-s Crete. The Greek warship Hydta threatens to bombard Aetimo, a town on the north coast of Crete, if the refugees are hindered in leaving. The foreign Powers are further increasing their squadron-; at Crete with a view to the possibility of the blockade of the island, and the formation of a gendarmerie is being hastened.
The lion. Mr Ctnv.on's recent optimistic statement in the House of Commons in reference to the restoration of order in Canea has created painful surprise in Athens. Feb. 12.
M. Delyams declares it impossible for the Mother Country to remain indifferent to the Cretan demands for union. The Greek Government, he .says, will act prudently but firmly.
The Greek Chamber voted half a million drachmus for the relief of Christian refugees from Crete.

The Times says the King of Greece is sufficiently aware of the views of the Powers to understand that all will resist any attempt to force their hands.
