I Yer P/v.s-.v A«y-<>riatii»t. — Copt/riiflit j London, Feb. 8. The Transvaal has joined the Grneva Convention which has for its objects the humane treatment of the sick and wounded during war. This step was taken withont consulting England. Lord Salisbury stated in the House of Lords that assent was necessary but Great Britain would not assert suzerainty on this occasion.
