AT the request of the leading Lady and Gentlemen Vocalists and Instrumentalists of the district, I have undertaken to resuscitate the Hastings Orchestral and Vocal Musical Society for the practice of popular vocal and instrumental music. I shall be pleased to hear from any ladies anu gentlemen wishing to join. It is my intention to give a series of short papers on the theory and practice of music, embodying the results of 25 years' experience (my own—not my brother's) with such men as John Hill, R.A.M. ; E.
