In the Hon.se of Commons Mr Chamberlain stated that the AngloFrench agreement in regard to the New Hebrides was .-till operative, and the alarms which bad been raised in connection therewith were groundless. Sir John Lubbock, member for London I niversity, and Mr Mac-Lean, member for Cardiff, moved that it was needless to reappoint- the Transvaal Raid Committee, as the offenders had already been punished. Mr John Diiiion's amendment that the fall in the price of produce required a further reduction of rents in Ireland, was rejected by a majority of Gi votes.
