WEST AUSTRALIAN SINES.

AN EXPERT S OPINION* OX THE TELLI RIDE ORES. (Per Piv.m Sydney, This day. Mr Muekean, a distinguished mining authority, who examined many W Australian mines on behalf of English capitalists, made a special investigation into the reported discoveries of tellurite ores, and found them not of sufficient quantity to be of any appreciable significance. He found 110 real lodes. The enthusiastic reports were evidently circulated for booming purposes. He does not believe the presence of telluride has any bearing on the question of the pennant licy of tbe lode formations. He has a very high opinion of the Kalgcorlie district, and considers the auriferions belts there richer perhaps than any other gold mining area of a similar ' extent hitherto known. He was also highiy impressed with the but considered the mines in the other districts patchy and of very doubtful value.
