The Cyclists Union.

A LIVELY MEETING.

[By Telegraph.] (l'<r Press Association.) Christciiurcii, This day. At a meeting of the N.Z. Cyclists Union last night the sub-committce reported on the championship meeting held by the Manawatu Club at Palmerston on March 11th, that the whole meeting had been managed in a lavish and unbusinesslike way, but that as an official was appointed by the Union to attend the meeting and had not assisted the Manawatu Club to put things straight, the committee recommended the refund of £o 8s (being amount of that officer's travelling expenses) to the Manawatu Club. Considerable discussion ensued on the subject and there was a strongconcensus of opinion to the effect that the assistance of the Club which made a financial mess of their affairs was outside the scope of the Cyclists' Union. Resolutions were carried embodying a portion of the report above alluded to and also of the opinion expressed.
