ADVERSE COMMENTS AT CAPETOWN.

(/'• r / 'rrxx

Capetown. De c. 27. In the course of bis speech at Port Elizabeth, Mr C. Rho:les complained that he had presented Rhodesia to a power which was now out of sympathy with himself. He referred to what he term'd the unctuous rectitude of the British (tovvrnment ; and stated that the late Mr Parnell had promised him a clause should be introduced in the Home Rule Bill allowing the colonies to be represented in the House of Commons.

The hostile tone latterly adopted by Mr Rhodes is much commented on in Capetown.
