Mails close for the under-mentioned places a.s follows : For Auckland overland, Monday and Thursday. 2 p.m. For Wellington and South, daily, 11 ;i.ni. Fur Australian Colonics and United Kingdom, via Naples, on Thursday, at 10 a.m. TIIE HOLIDAYS. Christmas day and New Year's Day will he observed as close holidays by the l'ostal lhaiich. and mails which would otherwise close on those days will he dosed at 8 p.m. on the 24th and olst respectively. On I toxin i? Day the oflice will be open in alt its branches from 9 to 10 a.m., and mails will he despatched as usual up to the later hour.
