The Takapuna took <3391 packages of butter from the breakwater on Monday night, and the Mahinapua took 2052 packages oil Friday ; total export from the Taranaki Freezing works since the opening of the season —25,932 packages. Some thousands of packages have also been shipped at Waitara. Mr Stuart, local Registrar of Deeds, left for Gisborne this morning to open the Land Transfer Office there. Wellington, This day. At a meeting of the Ballance Memorial Committee this morning it was decided to erect the statue in the centre of the lawn in front of Parliament House. The statue will be erected immediately after the holidays, and will be unveiled next session. Dunedi.n, This day. Chief Surveyor Adams leaves next week to take" charge of the Marlborough Land District. He will be succeeded at Dunedin by Mr John Hay, District Surveyor of Southland, and not by Mr Goldsmith of Gisborne as previously stated, .
