In the mile race Martin won. The pace was very slow until the last lap, when after a splendid finish the American won by half a wheel; time, Stnin 28 1 --"sec. The five mile race was a gift to Martin, who established a long lead from the start, and Parsons, who never bad a chance, palled out in the lap; time, lOmin 28 1-sthsec. Martin went out alone and lowered the ten mile Australian record, covering the distance in 21min 21 l-.Jthsec.
