Police Court News.

(Per Press Association.) [By Telegraph.] Chkistchurch, This day. At the S.M. Court this morning Fred R. Cross, who at a former sitting pleaded guilty to four charges of selling whisky without having a wholesale license, was fined £lO on each charge, with costs.

James Taylor, alias Scottie, alias Thompson, was charged with being an incorrigible rogue without lawful means of subsistence. It was pointed out by the police that his appearance in any town was quickly followed by safe robberies and burglaries, and when he left they ceased. He was sentenced to twelve months' imprisonment.
