THE ANNUAL CRICKET MATCH. [By Telegraph] (Per I'nus Association.) Wellington, This day. The cricket match Auckland v. Wellington, began at 11 to-day. A stiff nor.-wester was blowing down the wicket. Auckland won the toss and went in at noon. Two wickets are down for 46. Cuff, bowled Hales, 8, while G. Mills was smartly run out by Gore for ten, all singles. Scoring was very slow at the start, but livened up somewhat when J. Mills and Hay became associated. This pair are still at the wickets. 1 p.m In trying to pull Upham Hay was cleaned bowled for 17. Neill joined Mills and a change came over the match, the newcomer piling on runs at a great rate. At one time his score showed five fours in succession. At 182 Mills, in playing at Warren, overreached himself and was stumped by Niven, having scored 32. At lunch Neill had scored GO (including 10 fours). Extras 16. Total for 4 wickets, 143. At 3 p.m. the score stood 190 for six wickets.
