| MANY STORMY SCENES. ! ' ( !'■ I P.wx A ißeceived Dec. *2. at 10.40 a.m.) Pabis, Dec. 1. The Chamber of Deputies by a majority of 00 rejected a motion to denounce the Concordat. The Chamber of Deputies has carried a motion ordering the release of M. Chauiin, a member of the Chamber, who wn - arrested at Carnaux on a charge of assaulting an opponent with a loaded stick. M. Cocher, Minister of Finance, asks the Chamber to devote the sum of eight millions sterling in the construction of warships, of which amount he proposes to expend two millions next year. Ham bum;, Dec, 1. The Chief of Police, and President of the Municipality and the Chairman of the Trade's Court are promised as members of the Court of Arbitration to consider the strikes. In addition to these mentioned it is proposed that four delegates from, the employers and a similar number of workers should have seats on the Board. At present IH.OOO men are idle, and the strike pay is only suflicient to last four weeks. Many stormy scenes in which wives of those on strike had taken part, have occurred, and the police had to interfere with drawn swords. The strike is extending, and the river engineers have joined in.
