For some reason or other an impression got about that the Premier intended having himself nominated for Wellington yesterday, and the ranionr was iudustriou-ly circulated in certain quarters. It was for this reason Mr Duthie was nominated at the last moment, but as the Premier is not among the candidates il is considered unlikely that Mr Duthie will go to the poll. The interest in the election is t v no means so keen as on the two pr* \ion-, occasions. The T eu>perance «|in -uion cut at the heart of the i»>litical Inn - and makes it extremely ilifticult to form any opinion as to the men who are likely to be elected.
