Mr Fraser addresses the electors at Puketapu to-night. On our fourth page will be found Cable and Interprovincial news. Owing to the presure on our space we are compelled to hold over correspondence &c. W\ M. Mason, late ticket clerk at Waipawa railway station, was committee for trial tbi6 morning on a charge of stealing £l7 18s 2d Government money.
As the Hastings flour mills is now running for a few day, clients having any gristing to do are requested to delivered at mil lpromptly. The 2.5 p.m. train going south to-day consisted of 40 trucks, 2 passenger cars and guard's van. It was drawn by two locomotives. Voters are reminded of the meeting in St. Matthew's Hall this evening, when addresses will be delivered by the Revs, Miller, Morrison, and Dr Hosking. A great treat is in store for our Hastings residents next Monday night, when Mr H. A. Cornford will deliver an address in the Princess Theatre. The speaker is well known as one of the finest platform lecturers in New Zealand. Judgment was delivered at Wanganui by Mr Kettle, S.M. on Tuesday last, in the Greenaway v. Cowper case, in which plaintiff claimed .£'3o for damages sustained through collision with defendant's bicycle. Judgment was given for plaintiff for amount claimed with costs. Mr Wilson Barrett is said to have cleared jE'3O,OOO from the " Sign of the Cross." The play is drawing overflowing houses. The London and country audiences average 70,000 a week.
