After the luncheon adjournment yesterday the wickets fell rapidly, and the innings closed for 144, of winch Spraggon made 30, including seven boundary hits. Trott 2 wickets for 29 runs, Giffen 7 for 51, Trumble 8 for 29, Jones 2 for 4, and M'Kibbin 1 for 19. With 14 behind on the first innings the Australians went to the wickets on a bowlers' wicket, and Fisher and Downes wore responsible for the collapse of the Australians, and the last wicket fell with the si-ore at 95, Trumble (29 not out), and Gil'l'en (221 were the principal scorers. Fisher took 5 wickets for 89 and Downes 4 for 08. At the conclusion of the days' play Otago had lost three wickets for 12 runs. They now require 70 runs to win, and as it has been raining nearly all night, it is thought the task will be a difficult one.
