The Earl of Salisbury is a beautiful bay, rising six years old, and stands 16'o hands, and was bred by Mr Arch M'Lean. Greenhill. As a three year old he gained first prize at the H. 13. A. and P. Society's Show, beating five others. Sire, Marquis of Salisbury, g. sire Lord Salisbury, imported from Scotland. -You will see by tlie sires that the Earl of Salisbury is second to none. The Earl of Salisbury's dam is the purebred Clydesdale mare Pride's Darling (611) imported from Victoria by Mr John Trestrail. Pride's Darling's sire was Cox's Pride of Scotland (imported) dam Fanny by Bothwell (imported!. &e.. &c. Pride's Darling gained a iirst prize at Dtmedin Show in 18S6 and a iirst prize at the Taieri Show in the same year. Also firsts at Dunedin and Taieri Shows, 1887.
