A MAN SHOOTS Ills WIFE DEAD. Ji; \i.. i his day. A young man named Quinn, ail oxwarder of the Ararat Asylum, shot bis wife dead in Albert Park, but failed in an attempt to destroy himself by shooting and drowning. He then delivered himself up to the police. In his statement to the oliicers lie said he was out of work and destitute, and his wife ami he had decided to commit suicide together. His wife attempted to shoot herself but failed He then seized the revolver and shot lit r. but mad" a futile attempt to shoot himself. The woman was a native of GreymoiUh, New Zealand, ami had been previously married.
