[Special to Standard.] Chbistchurch, This day. The latest quotations for the Cup are: — 4 to 1 Euroclydon 6 to 1 Fabulist 7 to 1 Lady Zetland 10 to 1 Culverin 100 to 8 to 100 to 2 the rest. The weather is now calmer and warmer, but is still threatening. Visitors are arriving in large numbers from all parts of the colony for the purpose of attending the carnival week's festivities.
An Auckland resident won £IOO over Cremorne's victory in the Caulfield Cup, and put the whole sum on Day Star for the New Zealand Cup. Ar. accident happened to young Edward Chitham at the Palmerston racecoursa on Monday. He was riding Bavaria in a gallop 'when the filly slipped and fell, rolling over the lad, who was much bruised about the ribs and will be unable to ride for a couple of months.
