TEMPI:RATI. REGION IN NEW (iI'INEA. Beiskv.ni-:. Nov. 1 The report of Sir Win. McGregor. Lieutenant-Governor of British New Guinea, shows that tropical New Guinea can boast of a temperate region. At 11,000 ft. above the sea explorers found a tract of country in which buttercups, daisies, and other plants of inild climates were growing, while a bird resembling the English skylark was heard.
Some members of the party stiftered severely from the very cold weather.
