A LIVELY SCENE.

AT THE IMPERIAL INSTITUTE. London, Oct. 27. Mr Draper, Secretary of the Transvaal Geographical Society, lectured at the Imperial Institute this evening. A minority of the Fellows objected to his being allowed to leeiaire owing to his having sided with the Boers over I)r Jameson's raid. Throughout he met with great interruption and was continually called " traitor," " cur," and " ruftian." Almost all the evening he was subjected to insult and frequently hissed. The expulsion of the ringleaders from the membership of the Institute will be immediate. Mr Franc-is Hart, of Australia, was prominent among those who protested against the line of action taken by the minority. During the evening flags were waved and cheers were given for the Empire and Jamieson. A melee was narrowly averted.
