As a three year old he gained first prize at the H. B. A. and P. Society's Show, beating five others. Sire, Marquis of Salisbury, g. sire Lord Salisbury, imported from Scotland. You will see' by the sires that the Earl of Salisbury is second to none. The Earl of Salisbury's dam is the purebred Clydesdale mare Pride's Darling (611) imported from Victoria by Mr John Trestrail. Pride's Darling's sire was C'ox's Pride of Scotland (imported) dam Fanny by Bothwell (imported), &c., &c. Pride's Darling gained a first prize at Dunedin Show in 1886 and a first prize at the Taieri Show in the same year. Also firsts at Dunedin and Taieri Shows, 1887. In 1888 she gained first prize at the Taieri Show. The Earl of Salisbury is good tempered and a sure foal getter. Terms, £4 4s, payable January 1, .1 j; 1 ?.
