THE CATHOLIC SOCIAL.
[To tiie Editor.] Sir,—As one who was present at the late Catholic social, and who greatly enjoyed himself, I cannot let this opportunity pass without expressing the approval of myself and many others for the excellent manner in which all the details of that excellent function were carried out. It is really a pleasure to be remembered when one is present at a gathering where all 'are enjoying themselves. I must say, without flattery to Mr and Mrs Cullen, who, I understand, had the management of all the arrangements, that tlieir efforts to please have been crowned with the greatest success.
AYith reference to Messrs Wood and Ritson's letter to the Standard, I think tlicy are magnifying their little grievance. Surely they are not so thin-skinned but to know " that mistakes occur in the bestregulated families." They must know that any discourtesy shown to them was not done intentionally or by the sanction of the management. I think when this little trouble is panned out Messrs AVood and Ilitson will have no animosity against anyone connected with the social. I think the gill in their lettor has been infected by another party. —I am, itc., Cornucopia.
