OF SATJSRTTRY The Earl of Salisbury is a beautiful bay, rising six years olil, and stands l&o hands, and was bred by Mr Arch M'Lean, Greenbill. As a three year old lie gained first prize at the H. 13. A. and 1\ Society's Show, beating five others. Sire, Marquis of Salisbury, g. sire Lord Salisbury, imported from Scotland. You will see by the sires that the Earl of Salisbury is second to none. The Earl of Salisbury's dam is the purebred Clydesdale mare Pride's Darling (611) imported from Victoria by Mr •John Trestrail. Pride's Darling's sire was Cox's Pride of Scotland (imported) dam Fanny by Botlnvell (imported), &c., &c. Pride's Darling gained a first prize at Dunedin Show in 1886 and a first prize at the Taieri Show in the same year. Also firsts at Dunedin and Taieri Shows, 1887. 11l 1888 she gained first prize at the Taieri Show. The Earl of Salisbury is good tempered and a sure foal getter.
