[By Telegraph,] [Special to Standard.] Auckland, This day. Oliver Cromwell, aged 17, fell over the Chelsea wharf on Saturday night and was drowned. Wellington, This day. The Registrar of Patents this morning refused an application of the Cassell Company to amend their patent on the ground that it contained the essence of the invention and its insertion would extend the patent. The Reefton Miners' Union have unanimously resolved to support Mr P. J. O'Regan for the Buller seat, and the co-operation of other associations is to be asked. Dunedin, This day. In the Appeal Court which opened this morning all the judges were present. Judgment was unanimously given for defendants with costs in the case of the Southland Frozen Meat Company v. Nelson Bros which was heard last session. Leave was given to appeal to the Privy Council.
