A REDUCTION IX PI TIES DEMAXDED. AX ULTIMATUM TO THE MATAISELE. Cape Town. Oct. 11. An immense meeting passed a resolution in favor of the abolition of the duties on meat, wheat and llour. The Hon. Mr Sprigg replied that it was impossible to do this while the customs convention lasted. Mr Rhodes has issued an ultimatum to the insurgents in the Matoppo liills. Fighting has taken place at Inzega and Mazoe.
