A SIGN OF THE TIMES.
[To The Editor.] Sir, —If a sign of the bad times was wanted, it was fully exemplified last night at Pollard's performance. The would-be creme de la creme of the Hastings society were getting a bob's worth at the gaff. They even were contented to suit themselves to their surroundings in the pit by doing a bit of barracking on their own. It is really cruel when the bon ton must curtail their ex's in such a manner.
