Pollard's Opera Company.

To-night the curtain at the Princess Theatre goes up on Mr Tom Pollard s trump card, "Kip Van \\ inkle." The opera when staired in Auckland a few •weeks ago created quite a furore, and Press and public were unanimous in the opinion that it was the best thing the company had produced. The staging is said to be on a scale of magnificence never before attempted, the dresses being maguiiicent. The opera abounds with pleasing situations, and in following the fortunes of liip the interest is sustained throughout. The music is bright, and the opera ' gives ample scope for the undoubted histrionic abilites of which the young people are possessed. It is necessary that ajttho wish to secure seats should book Rirly at Hunt's book depot, and day tickets may be obtained at Messrs D. D. Hyde and Co's.
