Pollard's Opera Company.

" RIP VAN WINKLE." In criticing the production of this charming opera in Auckland, the Star says : —" Playgoers generally are to be congratulated upon the fact that Mr Pollard has added ' Rip Van Winkle ' to his repertoire, the more so as full justice, in every sense is done to that ever-delightful opera. The charming music could scarcely be heard to better advantage anywhere, while the acting, staging and dressing are far and away beyond what could bo seen in nine out of ten representations. The artistes enter thoroughly into the spirit of the piece, each giving to the part a finished rendering. The opera will doubtless prove one of the biggest draws on the bill for the ensuing tour."
