THE ARMENIAN QUESTION.
TURKEY GETTING READY TO FIGHT. Constantinople, Sept. 23. Turkish warships have been cleared raady for action, and it is reported that the Sultan has arranged a wholesale massacre of Christians in the event of the fleet attempting to enter the straits. The returns show that within a month 4000 Armenians have been massacred in the capital, 1000 are missing, 4000 have been assisted to escape, and 20,000 were deported.
