Reefton, This day. The Arbitration Court is sitting here on the appeal from the Conciliation Board upon the dispute between the consolidated company and their employees. The latter object to the reduction in wages to the bare rates of sustenance, which they claim is not a fair remuneration for skilled men at such dangerous work. The hearing is not" expected to conclude to-day. Invercargii l, This day. Alfred Godby, lately part-proprietor of the Mataura Ensign, shot himself with a pistol and died shortly afterwards. Blenheim, This day. The Governor and Lady Glasgow who are visiting the Marlborough Sounds, were presented with an address of welcome by the Borough Council at Blenheim.
