DISCOVERY OF NEW COUNTRY

AN IMPORTANT FIND. Adelaide, This day. The explorer Mann, who successfully conducted an expedition across the southern portion of Western Australia, reports the discovery of millions of acres of good pastoral and agricultural country. This stretch of country has hitherto been, declared to be worthless, but the explorer declares that it is clothed in different kinds of grass, besides other herbage and flowers. The soil is of various? kinds, and it is thought will grow almost anything. This valuable territory is situate between Eucla and Esperance Bay, and is known as Eyre's Band Patch. There is evidence of a fair rainfall. Mann suffered greatly from want of water, and had eventually to shoot his dogs and drink their blood.
