AUSTRALIAN CRICKETERS.

THE N.Z. TOUR. Sydney, This day. At a meeting of the New South Wales Cricket Association a cable was read from the New Zealand Association stating that as Mr Musgrove was the accredited manager and was financing the team it was thought that he had the concurrence of the Cricket Council in arranging matches in New Zealand. In response to cable messages from Mr Musgrove the New Zealand Association had committed itself to a liability of several hundred pounds. Mr Leece moved that the Council is entitled to support all the cricket authorities in the colonies in their efforts to ensure the maintenance of the conditions subject to which the Eleven obtained the • patronage of the Council for a visit to England. He pointed out that negotiations for a tour of New Zealand were entered into before the team left, and therefore the manager committed a breach of faith in arranging the New Zealand and Tasmanian tour. The motion was carried. Mr Leece then moved that intimation be conveyed to the cricket authorities in New Zealand that should they persist in encouraging the team to defy the authorities of the Council, the New South Wales Association will be compelled to terminate reciprocal relations with them. The meeting was averse to this extreme course and the motion was rejected.
