TO-DAY'S TELEGRAMS.
[Special to Standard.] Dunedin, This day. A child named Leak, two years and a-half, died from the effects of eating match heads. Feilding, This Day. C. L. McLean, solicitor, formerly principal of the Nelson College, died this morning after a long illness. He was a prominent Freemason and very highly respected. His remains will be removed to Kaikoura for interment alongside his late wife. Wellington, This Day. The were 850 entries at the Kennel Club's annual show to-day, which i 3 a large increase on former years. Mr J. Maude, of Melbourne, the sole judge, will not complete duties until late in the afternoon. There is a splendid exhibition of collies. Champion Herdwick took the championship for collie dogs.
