DASTARDLY PLOT AVERTED.
THE DYNAMITE CONSPIRATORS. A NOTORIOUS GANG. INTENDED TO ANNIHILATE THE QUEEN. OTHER ROYAL PERSONAGES INCLUDED IN THE PLOT. AN EXTENSIVE DISCOVERY MADE. COMPLETE UNEARTHING OF THE INTENDED OUTRAGE. London, Sept. 15. It has transpired that the English detectives were aware that the Fenians and Nihilists in America were making arrangements for a bomb outrage to be directed against the Queen, the Czar, and high officials. Ten persons, including Tynan, Bell, Haines, Wallace, Gratz, and Perry travelled to Europe by different routes with abundant funds. # All the party were shadowed. They lived recklessly, especially Tynan, who drank freely of champagne. He avowed strong sympathy with Fenianism, and consorted with the Anarchists. The gang met in Paris in August, where they perfected their plans, and then separated. Bell going to Glasgow and Haines and Wallace to Antwerp. Wallace is believed to be identical with Kearney, who was connected with the Tradeston gasworks explosion.
Haines and Wallace with others converted the house of Mrs Layne (who is a sister-in-law to Kerry), situated at Rercham, a suburb of Antwerp, into a bomb factory. This factory was tenantless when the police forced an entrance, but tank* of nitro-glycerine and moulds were buried in a garden attached. The police believe that the manufacture of a number of bombs had be«x completed. Haines and Wallace, becoming suspicious that the police were on their track, fled to Rotterdam, and had booked for America when arrested. At the hotel in which they were lodging were found a number of infernal machines and cypher documents. They had £2OO in their possession. A key to a cypher was found which proves Tynan's complicity. All the party were arrested on Saturday night. Tynan's bedroom was forced, and he was found in bed drunk. He had disguised himself by having shaved off his beard. He admits that he expects to be hanged. The accused were remanded, and it is expected that their extradition will take place in a fortnight. The police are confident that tinder the recent treaty France will surrender the accused. Bell had been at an hotel in Glasgow for a week prior to his arrest. He professed to be a tourist and in possession of lots of money. It is supposed that his visit to Glasgow was for the purpose of obtaining recruits. He possessed a letter and telegrams from Tynan, requesting him to visit Boulonge and warning him not to bring " rotten stuff." * It is reported that cypher messages disclosed the fact than an attempt was to be made on the life of the Queen at Balmoral Castle. The Nationalists are dismayed at the discovery and protest that Irishmen are Hot involved. Daly received a triumphal reception on his arrival at Dublin. Tynan's son and mother live in Dublin.
