Struggle with a Maniac.
Two gentleman travelling upon one oft'i F ich lines have just had an UI r 1 experience- Tbey^entered aco i x ient already occupied by a Swi Ihe latter began to talk about hi- fear of being murdered, and shrieked several times at the phantasmal form of an imaginary assassin, whom he pictured on bending over him with a knife. His companions did their best to calm the man, and succeeded for a time in doing so. \\ h the act of dozing they were aw \hu d by terrible cri. ~ and a trenK oise. The Swiss had pulled open the door of the carriage and broken the window by the violence of his movements. He was standing outside on the footboard Crying " Murder," and preparing to dash headforemost into tbe darkness while the train was going at full speed. -His travelling companions managed to drag hiui back, but he attacked them with the utmost fury, and would undoubtedly have indicted on them grevious bodily injury had not the guard, summoned by the alarm signal, arrived in time to assist in overpowering him.
