THE ARMENIANS FREEING THEMSELVES. THE SULTAN DEMANDS THE EXTRADITION OF RIOTERS. THE FRENCH ADDING TO ITS LEVANT FLEET. HORSIBLE DETAILS OF THE RECENT MASSACRE. Constantinople, Sept. 5. The Armenian committee announces that it will not shrink from any sacrifice of life in order to compel the European Powers to intervene in the present struggle, and that throwing , dynamite bombs will continue until reforms at least equal to those conceded the Cretans are granted. London, Sept. 5. The Sultan demands the extradition of the Ottoman Bank rioters from Marseilles. They will probably be sent to America. The German newspapers declare that a recurrence of the massacre will be likely to cause further dynamite outrages, and assert that the inaction of the Turkish police and military indicates the Sultan's complicity in the massacre. The French Government is increasing its fleet in the Levant. Mr Gladstone in an interview said he deplored that Europe was insensible to the infamy of the assassinations by ihe Ottoman throne. Sept. 6. Details of the recent massacre at Constantinople, which are of an appalling character, have been received from a private source. Seven hundred Armenians took re- ' fuge in the Custom house. The mob threatened to set fire to the building and eventually murdered the whole of the refugees, the soldiers helping them. Another band of three hundred were butchered and thrown into the sea. The police pointed out the houses of Armenians to the mob, who pillaged them and slaughtered or outraged the inmates, declaring that the Sultan bad authorised three days' slaughter. The Embassies demand an inquiry.
