Mr Mackenzie's Entertainment.

A POPULAR CONCERT. This famous Scottish vocalist and entertainer, who has been delighting the people of Auckland recently, and last Friday aroused thff Napier concertgoers to the highest pitch of enthusiasm, will give one of his unique entertainments in Hastings to-morrow night, when a grand programme of songs, duets, sketches, recitals, scenes, skirt dances, cachucas, comedy, drama, humorous stories, Irish and Scottish dances, &c., are to be given by Mr Mackenzie and his talented company. To say that a rare treat is in store for those who attend only recapitulates the opinion of the press and people of the colony. The Auckland Star says : " Seldom has such a fine baritone filled the City Hall as Mr Mackenzie did, his powerful singing fairly electrifying the audience." As a delineator of Scottish song and character, he has no compeer on the stage. Miss Jessie Glover who ably supports Mr Mackenzie is a young and charming elocutionist. Her interpretations in drama or comedy display great ability. In recitals, pathetic and humorous, her portrayals are rapturously received. The Scotchmen of the district will be pleased to know that this young lady is a granddaughter of the late Edmund Glover, of Edinburgh, Greenock, and Glasgow, and with Mr Mackenzie will give the sons of Scotia a taste of the Doric so dear to those hailing from the Land o' Cakes, while Englishmen and Irishmen cannot fail to be delighted with such a versatile and popular company. The prices are extremely low, and draw great crowds everywhere. In order to prevent inconvenience the doors are to be opened at 7.15, and we advise all who desire a good seat to go early.
