Mr W. Douglas had the misfortune to lose his valuable brood mare Rosefeldt, by Nordenfeldt from Eose d'Amour, on Friday last, the mare having died while foaling to Dreadnought. The foal, a fine colt, died next day. Bosefeldt was not only an extremely well-bred mare, but also a good performer, amongst her many victories being the New Zealand Cup, in the fastest time on record, viz., Smin 29sec, and the Egmont Cup. Ich Dien and Liberator filled the places in her New Zealand Cup in 1893. D.J.C. SPRING MEETING. Dunedin, August 80.
