The record price this season in Otagq op Southland for freezing sheep been obtaiaed by the EJon Sfatthew Holmes, of Castlerock Station —viz., 20s per head fov 400 extra prime wethers. The sheep were rising four and six-tooth, and were bred at Castlerock from Cheviot ewes by Border Leicester ram a. This is the cross which produces the famous Scotch mutton which commands the highest price in the London market, and the sale proves the value of Cheviot sheep ia mn country,
