THE PORTUGESE FIRE ON THE BOERS. Cape Town, August 26. News has been received here that the Portuguese at Lorenzo Marquez fired on a party of Boers, wounding a lady. The cause is not known. London, August 27. The Hon J. Chamberlain has been officially informed that the Matabele rebellion is over, though many impis still remain intact.
