THE AUSTRALIANS AT HOME.

AGAINST SOMERSETSHIRE

RAIN INTERFERES WITH TIIB

MATCH

London, August 21

The Australians began a match with Somersetshire to-day. The following are the County team: L. and R. Palairet, Woods, Hill, Hedley, Newton, liobson, Tyler, Nicholls, Roe, and Challen. Graham, Johns, and Eady are standing out of the Colonial team. The attendance is good, but heavy rain fell at intervals until 3 p.m., when it became a steady downpour, and play had to be stopped.

Somerset were the first to bat, and have lost one wicket for 37 runs.

Lancashire beat Surrey on Saturday, and Yorkshire thus becomes the champion County.
