A Judge's Hasty Remark.
Melbourne, August 17. An incautious remark by Judge Williams in the I>iv< rce Court led to a discussion in the House. According to the Judge, were he to class even* man who fjot drunk on Saturday and stayed drunk ali Sunday as an habitual drunkard, he would require to divorce two-thirds of the Labor population. Members characterised this as an unwarrantable slur on the workers. The Premier called upon the for an explanation, and he admits that he made the a--trti<n, but says he never intended to reflect on the working cla.--i.s.
