An Important Judgment.

[By Telegraph]

[Special to Standard.]

Gisborne, this day

This morning Mr Justice Conolly gave judgment for the Co-operative Company for the amount claimed in the case against Newman, being £260 commission on the sale of Newman's property to Cripps, of Hawke's Bay, the sale having fallen through owing to no fault of the company. It will be remembered that James Simpson negotiated the sale, but was nonsuited for claiming an extra amount tacked on to the price charged for the purchase, which he (Simpson) said Newman told him he could keep if he got it.
